Cantante, pianista, pioniere della musica soul, Ray Charles è stato sicuramente uno dei musicisti più noti e amati dello scorso secolo. Nato nel 1930, The Genius ha costellato la sua carriera con incredibili successi e numerosi riconoscimenti, ricevendo tra l’altro ben 13 Grammy Award. Questo cd riunisce due degli album più rappresentativi dei suoi primi anni di carriera: “What’d I Say” (1959) e il suo sensazionale album di debutto “Hallelujah I Love Her So!” (1957). Entrambi gli album furono pubblicati all'epoca dall'etichetta Atlantic e includono singoli registrati a partire dal 1952.
