Tali brani sono tutti incusi in questa raccolta. Registrati durante l'apice della creatività di Mingus, partecipano star come Eric Dolphy, Roy Eldridge, Booker Ervin, Jimmy Knepper, Charles McPherson, Paul Bley, Tommy Flanagan, Jo Jones e Dannie Richmond.
Sono stati aggiunti come bonus due brani con Booker Little, Benny Bailey, Eric Dolphy e Max Roach (ma non Mingus).
